Two Aces on Thursday 12 Feb.
The latest to join NAGC's elite 'Hole-in-One' group are Brett Murphy and Andrew Downard.
The pair were playing together in the Thursday stableford comp on 12 February, when both had a day every golfer dreams about.
Brett was first to strike. A 5-handicapper, he went upstairs at the sixth using a gap wedge to find the pin, which was cut on the front tier, just right of centre.
It was the first ace of his golfing career.
Later at the 12th, Andrew (who plays off 19) joined the club when he used a 6-iron to find the cup at the back of the green. Said Andrew: “…about my only straight shot all day ! … It was my first hole in one, and I'm still "on a high" 24 hours later!”
The brace of aces was the third in four months at the club.
This all makes for a startling run of coincidences that may have a place somewhere in a record book, especially as the clock ticks down to the start of renovations at the course.
The club’s run of aces began on Thursday 13 November 2025, when Louise Park holed out at 5 and Helen Silvy aced 12.
Barely a month later, on Thursday 11 December, Gary Duperouzel and Ted Wilson also scored aces in the same mid-week competition. Gary at 12 and Ted at 17.
Well done to all on helping write a new and unusual chapter in the history of the North Adelaide Golf Club.
