North Adelaide Golf Club

Frequently Asked Questions on NAGC transition

Frequently Asked Questions from NAGC members

Question:

“In view of the closure of the south course from April, will the club be adjusting our annual subs accordingly, as I joined the club on the basis of access to an 18-hole comp on the South Course, which is now not going to be available for some time.”

Answer:

The annual club membership fee (around $290) covers fixed costs incurred by the club on behalf of members, including GolfID registration and updates, insurances, administration, and office costs. These costs will remain during the redevelopment phase and some additional costs relating to storage and temporary accommodation will be incurred.

Despite those additional burdens, the club fee will remain the same as last year, with a 20% reduction via an extension of the membership period from 1 April 2026 to 30 June 2027, as we adjust our financial year.

The rate of green fees paid by players is a matter for the Adelaide City Council in the current period, and later for the State Government, when the course responsibility transitions.

Question:

When must members decide if they want a green fee refund or wish to have their paid-up green fees continue? This applies to those members with extended green fee anniversary dates.

Answer:

Members will soon receive instructions on how to exercise their options for pro rata refunds, continuation of credit and monthly payment. Again, these processes involve Adelaide City Council which is yet to determine some of its actions.

Question:

“While the President’s Update has a lot of words on paper, it doesn’t really give finite answers to very many topics with just 6-7 weeks before these issue come to hand.”

Answer:

The Club supplies information as soon as it is agreed upon. The queries that remain reflect the many questions we have for Council despite the extensive submissions and proposals that we have made.

Question:

It's going to be interesting how this is going to impact space and tee off time availabilities on a 13-hole course.

Answer:

The Adelaide City Council is still working on its options for play on the North and NAGC has also submitted proposals, including the option of playing 18 via the addition of some alternative tee blocks. The planning continues.

 Question:

Will the par 3 course be still open?

Answer:

Yes, it will.

Question:

Is there a plan for a temporary car park for members of NAGC & where will it be?

Answer:

The proposed temporary car parking will be adjacent to the old North Adelaide Railway Station, where registrations will also occur.
